Najma Akhter’s Lyrical Abstraction: Bangladesh at the Core was on display at the Jehangir Art Gallery 3 from Oct 18-24. The exhibition  exploreed nature and human settlements through abstraction as a method.         The artist presents the lyrical aspect of Bangladesh through the free-flowing strokes and texture as a context in this  exhibition. Bangladesh is known to be a green and fertile land for centuries. It is a riverine country. Rivers create new lands and wash away localities to be rebuilt by the resilient people. The landscape is constantly evolving creating a multitude of visual possibilities that an abstract painter would translate and transfer to the surface of the canvas. This abstraction differs from the west or the grand tradition of abstract expressionism, although connected.

For the uninitiated, Najma Akhter is a modern artist from Bangladesh and is one of those few whose forte is abstract painting. She was born on February 14, 1959. An MFA from the Institute of Fine Arts, Dhaka University, Najma Akhter has exhibited around the globe her expressive paintings, which mostly are acrylic on paper or canvas. Originally a student of Oriental Arts, an area where too she received great appreciation. She started experimenting with abstract visual language in 2003 and toured with her vibrant collection to a number of places like Penang, Malaysia to Patras, Greece. She has been a member of the jury of an international art expo in Sofia, Bulgaria. The artist is also an assistant professor of secondary and higher secondary level fine arts at the University Laboratory School and College. Institute of Education Research. Dhaka University.

Najma Akhter used to write distinctive art reviews for reputed dailies before concentrating solely on her paintings. Her works are in collections of a number of organisations (including government offices, National Museum, Shilpakala Academy, Banks and diplomatic missions) and private collectors, at home and abroad. Najma has received runners-up in Bulgaria’s prestigious International Mixed Media Exhibition and Poet Abdul Hai Mashreky Gold Medal and Shilpacharja Gold Medal.

Many celebrity guests including Dilip Sen, Aarti Nagpal, Naira Banerjee, Pankaj Berry, Arun Bakshi, Sujay Mukherjee, Leena Kapoor and Jyoti Saxena were present, unique gifts were also given to media persons.
It’s festival time again as India’s biggest festival, the festival of lights, Diwali, is being celebrated across India and by Indians abroad. Back home, Mr Ronnie Rodrigues along with his Cine Buster team, just like last few years,  celebrated Diwali with people from all walks of life.
The housekeeping staff, security personnel and people involved in menial work of the Entire Complex were given Diwali goodies and handsome amount of legal tender so as for them to celebrate this biggest festival with dignity and fervour, especially with their children and family.
Ronnie Rodrigues has always been into philanthropy and he takes care of children from some of the orphanage schools. Moving further he has always involved media personnels in all his celebrations. Hefty number of journalists and photographers joined Mr Rodrigues in his Diwali celebrations and he handed over exciting media kits to everyone from media.
It was a star studded affair as quite a number of celebrities attended this social cause function. Sujoy Joy Mukherjee (son of legendary actor Joy Mukherjee, music director Dilip Sen, actors Arun Bakshi, Leena Kapoor, Pankaj Berry, Aarti Nagpal, Jyoti Saxena, Producer and director Nilesh Malhotra graced the occasion and were felicitated by Mr Ronnie Rodrigues.
This Diwali function was attended by “Pisachini” serial fame Nyra Banerjee too. She was looking preety in a white and pink shiffon saree and said, “It’s an honour to attend a function like this where people from housekeeping, security and menial workers are given honours by giving priority in distribution of gifts and a  handsome amount. It’s a learning experience and I laud Mr Ronnie Rodrigues’ statement, ‘For me these people are celebrities. As per me they are equal to everyone and deserve this priority treatment. They too have a right to celebrate this festival of light with much more gaiety.” I thank Ronnie ji for making me part of this function and urge everyone to watch my serial ‘Pusachini’ regularly”.

C2B Voices – Season 2, Grand Finale ends on a high!

A scintillating finale was held in Mumbai on 10^th October hosted by Khushboo Kamal and co-hosted by Joy Banerjee.

This one of its kind unique Online Singing Reality competition where 7000+ singers from 162 countries in various age categories went through grueling rounds of selections and challenges, starting 4 months ago fighting to make it to the finale.

All contestants performed so well in the Studio round that the judges had to increase the number of finalist spots from 10 to 18. They were neck to neck in all the 3 categories (male, female and junior). The top 18 were Aantariksha Saval, Tapti Das, Arijit Deb, Rakshak Bhatt, Charul Singh, Sahil Khan (visually impaired), Khushi Singh, Vikas Sharma, Yashshree Karnarkar, Sakshi Biswas, Piyush Kumar, Mehak, Rohit, M Ram, Vikas Malviya, Pankaj Devda, Pooja Tiwari, Kundan Karoop.

These 18 finalists now had to give their best shot in front of a talented pool of jury members from diverse backgrounds – Jolly Mukherjee (singer of “Chandni” fame), Sonniya Guptaa (CEO/Founder of C2B Voices), Hadi Ali Abrar (Bollywood Film Director) and Vijaykumar Mirchandani (Award-winning Hollywood Filmmaker/Producer) along with Jayant Hudar (Amazon best-selling author) who was the Chief Guest.

The top 5 list included Sahil Khan from, Junagadh Gujarat (male), Rohit from Dholpur, Rajasthan (male), Sakshi Biswas from Kolkatta (female), Yashashri Karnakar from Aurangabad (female) and Khushi from New Delhi (Junior). These top 5 received one Original Song FREE each to add to their kitty.

These talented singers who came from the interiors of India had never witnessed such a stage and now they were one step away to realize their dream of singing. Their performances were so good that the jury had to deliberate hard to pick the winners.

A special prize for consistently performing well across the entire competition went to Antariksha from Mumbai. She received a Gift Hamper from Nourish Mantra (worth INR 5000)

The  C2B Voices Season2 Final winners were….

Khushi (Junior Category), Sakshi Biswas (Female Category), Sahil Khan (Male Category).

These winners received gift hampers from Rays Healer along with Music Videos worth INR One Lakh each sponsored by Chain 2 Bollywood.

The uniqueness of the show where never-before, any winner of a singing reality show has received the prize to do playback singing for a Bollywood film. Director Hadi Ali Abrar gave that prize of Playback Singing in his Upcoming Bollywood Film ‘Fajr’ to the young and talented Sahil Khan who is also visually impaired but his singing clearly overshadowed everyone.

Last announcement, where one of these singers’ life was about chance to sing for the Hollywood project and Producer Vijaykumar Mirchandani gave that prize to Rohit. But that was not all, as he was also very impressed with the beautiful voice of Yashashree that he gave an additional prize to her to sing for his Hollywood project as well.

These talented singers had no words to express how their life was about to change and so were their parents. This is what the creative team of C2B Voices wanted to showcase and find these diamonds in the rough. Well achieved and well deserved,

The program was conceived and organized by Sonniya N Guptaa of Chain2Bollywood in collaboration with award winning Hollywood Producer, Vijaykumar Mirchandani of 16^th Street Productions who are changing the fabric of Singing Reality Shows. धनतेरस यानी कि छोटी दीवाली भोजपुरी के राइजिंग स्टार विनोद यादव के लिए खुशियों से भरी नजर आ रहे हैं । अभिनेता की भोजपुरी फिल्म कर्मपुत्र को केंद्रीय फिल्म प्रमाण पत्र बोर्ड से यू/ए प्रमाण पत्र प्राप्त हुआ है। उनकी फिल्म को बिना किसी कट के ये सार्टिफिकेट मिला है। फिल्म ‘गुंडा’ से अपने अभिनय की शुरुआत करने वाले विनोद यादव को आज इंडस्ट्री के दिग्गज लोगों में चर्चा का विषय बने हुए हैं। उन्होंने अभिनय के साथ साथ अब सिंगिंग भी शुरू कर दी है। जिसका परिणाम है कि उनके पहले ही देवी गीत ने अभिनेत्री अक्षरा सिंह के देवी गीत को पटखनी दी थी। जल्द ही विनोद यादव को दो फिल्में कर्मपुत्र, बल और बलिदान सिनेमाघरों में दस्तक देने को तैयार है। इन दोनों ही फिल्मों को सीबीएफसी से बिना किसी काटछांट के प्रमाण पत्र दे दिए गए हैं।
